The Funding Application
What we will Fund:
- Items of Equipment/toys
- Training materials and educational literature
- Training Course/Conference Fees
- Assistant Sponsorship
- Transportation & Accommodation when attending training courses/therapy sessions
What we will not fund:
- Applicants requesting funding for a program/equipment that is not deemed ethical by the charity.
- Applications that go against the charity constitution.
- Applications from charities deemed to hold funds in excess of their needs.
- Leisure facilities such as holidays.
Conditions:
- No grant of any kind will be offered until a home visit has been conducted. This may take place prior to a decision or after a grant has been approved.
- Please note that it is Special policy that when we do offer direct financial help, all funding must be through the purchase of an item or service, except in exceptional circumstances.
- All applicants must be for Scottish Residents.
- Applicants must be seen to be fundraising independently.
- When direct financial assistance is offered in an exceptional circumstance, Special Scotland MUST receive receipts 3 months after the grant was received for proof on what the funds were used for. Failure to do so will result in funds future grants being denied.
- Special Scotland's decision is final. We will make every effort to explain why an application is denied, however occasionally we are unable to do so. On both occasions, we will not take part in any contest of the decision.
How much can we apply for?
Due to the huge amount of applications we receive each quarter, we have to limit all grant requests to £1000.00 per quarter. Please note that on most occasions, we offer to fund a percentage of the overall cost. Please remember to include full costs of your programme so we can access your needs.
Procedure:
- All applications will be assessed individually.
- Applications should be recieved by the below deadlines. Applications recieved after the deadline will be reviewed during the next quarters application process.
- Special will request a house visit during the decision process.
- All applications which are referring to programs must ensure these programs are ethical.
- All applications with reference to chosen programs must be supported with the program details and if applicable, scientific evidence.
- Applicants will be notified of the decision as per the published dates. We reserve the right to extend our decision date if necessary.
