Parent Support Mornings
2010
Livingston, Dundee & Bathgate
Special Scotland are pleased to announce 3 parent support meetings at the beginning of 2010. These sessions are designed for parents and carers to engage with each other and offer and receive advice based on their own and other people's experiences. We understand how difficult it must be to find other people who know the demands of having children with autism and aim for these meetings to be a chance to make new friends. Special Scotland staff are on hand to offered information on the charity & our grants and to take notes on any ideas you feel we may be able to help in the future.
Don't worry about being nervous to speak up, you can talk as little or as much as you like - whatever you are comfortable with. Special Scotland will break the ice and jump in to help conversation flow and make everyone feel at ease. Tea & coffee is on hand with a few biscuits to make the day as informal as possible.
The events run from 11.30AM - 1PM and will also feature literature for you to take away. If the locations are not convenient for you, please let us know where you would like to see the next meeting take place.

Edinburgh Half Marathon

A small Special Scotland team will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 23rd May 2010 to raise vital funds for the charity. If you would like to join in the 13.1 mile run, please let us know! More information about the run can be found here:

To follow up the Edinburgh Half Marathon the team of Special Scotland will progress to a full marathon on the 3rd October 2010. This huge undertaking will be the most physically challenging fundraising event the charity has undertaken to date and you are very welcome to join us! Having missed the 2009 Pedal for Scotland, Special Scotland will be signing up once again for the 2010 event. It is a great challege, but also one that can be done by the whole family.
